SCHOOL FEATURES
POPULAR EDUCATION FOR YOUR CHILD
Parents and guardians are required to sign children in and out of the center on a daily basis. Each classroom has a Sign-In / Sign-Out Sheet located on a clipboard close to its entry door. Depending on the classroom set-up, parents may also be asked to enter a pin number into an iPad during drop-off and pick-up. We ask that parents and guardians leave any special instructions in writing with the child’s teacher at the time of drop off.
We will release a child only to a person who is indicated as an authorized person in the child’s file, and we require a photo ID for identification of any authorized person who is unfamiliar to the center staff.
We kindly ask that you notify the center before 9 am on the day of absence if a child will be absent for the day.
We ask that you provide one full change of clothes for your child to be left at the center in case your child’s clothing becomes soiled during the day. As your child grows, or the seasons change, please ensure that you have changed out the clothing as needed in order to ensure a clean change of clothes is available for your child.
Each classroom’s daily schedule includes outside play if the weather permits; therefore, please dress your children in seasonally-appropriate, comfortable clothing that can be easily managed by your child, including hats and gloves when needed.
We recognize that a birthday is a very special day for your student and want your child to have her or his classroom participate in the celebration of the birthday, if you desire.
Because our first concern is the safety of all of our students, we need to control any food item that enters into the classrooms. We welcome parents and guardians to bring treats from home to share with the class, provided that the classroom teacher and Director are notified in advance. The classroom teacher and Director will review your idea and advise you of any food allergy concerns in the classroom or school.
Due to food allergies of some students, we will not be able to celebrate with a treat if it contains a known allergen.
We publish a monthly newsletter to communicate important events and news to parents and guardians. Click the appropriate link to download the current or past newsletters.
All parents will be given the opportunity to schedule two conferences per year with the child’s teacher, regarding the student’s progress. A parent may schedule additional conferences as desired with the director or teacher at any other time.
